We understand that sometimes our clients need our help in different ways. For instance, clients may have a family member who would regularly drive them to family visits or medical appointments, but they may get busy with work and other commitments. iCare Community Services is ready to step in and provide transportation assistance. We can provide a range of disability-friendly transportation options and can even arrange taxi vouchers so that clients who are able to, can travel independently. Whatever your need, we can help you get out and about in the best way that suits you, while feeling confident and safe: whether you are planning a day out, doing your weekly shopping or heading to a regular doctor’s appointment.

    People with physical or intellectual challenges who cannot use public transport without significant difficulty are eligible for NDIS transportation and travel assistance.
    NDIS transport funding aims to help people with physical or intellectual challenges move more freely. The exact use depends on your particular circumstances, but it is commonly used for travel related to your treatment, skills improvement, and work.
    NDIS travel and transport funding cannot be used for travelling of your support providers. Furthermore, it cannot be used to travel along with disabled family members for everyday travel. For such needs, you might be eligible for Multi Purpose Taxi Program (MPTP).
    There are three support levels. Level one provides up to $1,606 annually for people who are unemployed, studying, or attending day programs. Level two provides up to $2,472, while level three provides $3,456 nnually for people working or studying part-time (up to fifteen hours per week) or participating in a day program.
